Join Us for a Council-Wide Camp Out!
We have the perfect troop camping opportunity for you coming up in October! On October 27-29 at Keyauwee Program Center, we are going to bring out all the competition for a game-themed council-wide camp out! Here is just a little sneak peek:
- Guess Who’s birthday we are celebrating? I’ll give you a Clue…
BINGO, you got it—Juliette Gordon Low. This game-themed camp out will be Perfection (and more fun than a Barrel of Monkeys)! Join troops from around the council to learn new life skills and move across the game board as we celebrate our founder’s LIFE. You won’t be SORRY! you came!
Troops can register now to be a part of the fun. Registration includes meals throughout the weekend (Friday night snack, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner and Sunday continental breakfast) and the official council-wide Camp Out patch. Event T-shirts can also be added on for an additional fee. Troops can opt to stay in a camp unit or bring their own tents.
Registration information can be found here. This event is open to all level troops. The registration deadline is October 2.
circle c open house
Did you know we have horses? Circle C Equestrian Center, part of Keyauwee Program Center, is hosting an open house on Saturday, September 2 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Come out to the barn, meet the horses, take a tour and learn more about our Girl Scout programs and community riding opportunities. There will be activities, games and fun for the whole family, and you don’t have to be a Girl Scout to attend.
The best part! We will be offering a limited number of five-minute introductory riding lessons. These are open to first-time riders between the ages of 5-14 years old (you don’t have to be a Girl Scout to participate). To register for a lesson that day, click here and choose your time slot when completing the registration form.
Girl Scout Hike- Year of the Trail
The first event in our Year of the Trail series is coming up next Saturday, August 26 at Price Lake in Blowing Rock. The hike is open to all Girl Scouts, and girls will pick up trash along the way. Bring a picnic for after the hike and enjoy a day in the mountains!
Last Days to Register for Leaderee
It’s your last chance to register and join us for Leaderee, happening in September at Keyauwee Program Center. The registration deadline is this Thursday, August 17.
This weekend event is open to all Girl Scout volunteers and a great way to start the new Girl Scout year on a fun note. We hope to see you there!
