#HATNOTHATE MAKer event

As part of the new #HATNOTHATE partnership this fall, GSCP2P is hosting a Stitch for Kindness Maker Event on Saturday, October 7 in Gastonia.  Girls (Juniors and older) will crochet, knit or use looms at this council-wide event to create blue hats to distribute in the community as part the collaboration with the non-profit campaign. Blue hats are the signature feature of the #HATNOTHATE movement.

And don’t forget about the #HATNOTHATE patch design contest going on now! Girls can submit their patch designs through October 1 and the winner will be announced during the October 7 event.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Workshop

GSCP2P is hosting a virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid workshop in September in partnership with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. The course teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adolescents ages 12-18.

The virtual workshop, which will include two parts over September 25-26, is open to all Girl Scout adults. You can find more information and register here
