Meet P2P’s Newest Horse at Circle C Equestrian Center

Circle C Equestrian Center, part of Keyauwee Program Center, in Sophia is excited to have a new face in their barn, Rosalita, who was introduced to campers over the summer after arriving at camp for a summer job. She has quickly acclimated to the barn and environment and is a favorite horse among the girls now.

“We are so happy to have Rosalita in our herd,” said Cathy Thacker, Equine Experience Manager. “She now has a job and a purpose and will stay at Circle C to help us teach the next generation of riders.”

Rosalita was acquired from a local horse professional who had rescued her from an unfortunate situation and was working to rehabilitate her.

“Working with the local horse community is a great way to find horses with the right temperament and training who might need a step down in their level of activity,” said Thacker. “These types of horses make great teaching partners for our Girl Scouts.”

Horse programming is provided year round for all girls, whether it is private lessons, troop workshops or special events at the barn. You can find all of our horse-related programming on our online calendar. You can also e-mail circlec@girlscoutsp2p.org for more information about bringing your troop out to ride.

Did you also know that you can be a part of providing daily needs to our horses at Circle C? Through the Adopt our Herd program, individuals and troops can make a donation to help supply food, essential supplies and appropriate care to Rosalita and all the horses who call Circle C home.
