Don’t let finances keep you from joining us! The weekend will be a great time to take training and certification courses, enjoy the outdoors and connect with other volunteers from across the council.

You can find more details about the Outdoor Adventure Training Weekend, including the full list of workshops being offered, on our online calendar. The final registration deadline for the event is March 19 (March 10 for scholarship requests).

United Way Art Contest

Every year, United Way of High Point holds an art contest asking children to submit creative, vibrant and colorful pictures that express their gratitude to donors of United Way and the organizations/foundations they serve. This year’s contest is currently going on and all Girl Scouts are encouraged to submit an entry. The artist of the winning entry gets their name published in the High Point Enterprise, along with a gift card and a framed poster print of their photo as it appears in the newspaper.

Submissions are being accepted through Friday, March 29 and can be sent to Jane Liebscher, president of the United Way of High Point. Instructions for entries include:

  • Artwork should be created on plain white paper.
  • Please use colored markers or crayons- the brighter, the better!
  • Include the child’s first name, age, school and partner agency (Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont).
