A Message From the CEO
When I look back over the past three years, it can be difficult to process all that’s changed in our world. Pandemic restrictions changed the way we lived in many unexpected ways: people fell in love with the outdoors again, rallied to support their communities and found creative ways to connect with each other. Ultimately, we realized just how far-reaching Girl Scouting can be to bring and bind people together and impact the lives of girls in our communities.
We know that we must continue moving forward, and we also know that things will never be the same. We can’t continue to operate in ways we always have without adjusting for the significant impact we’ve experienced over the past few years. If we did, we’d be doing our girls a disservice and not living up to the legacy and responsibility left to us by our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, 112 years ago.
Our team needs your voice now more than ever. In March, we contracted with Jes DeShields of Crescent Leadership to work with us over the spring and summer to develop our Multi-Year Strategy. Over the next few months, we’ll collect data and talk to as many people as we can in order to guide the process of developing a new and evolving strategy for GSCP2P. This means that we will have a clear road map to guide us and prepare our team to make the shifts necessary when we know something is not working (or maybe working better than we expected)!
We want to invite you to be a part of this critical process. Jes will be in North Carolina in June. During that time, she will host several in-person focus groups and an additional virtual focus group for those unable to attend in person. Please register for a GSCP2P Strategy Focus Group and select all dates and formats that work best for you. Because space is limited in these engagements, Crescent Leadership will confirm your spot based on a first come, first serve basis. Note that location (for in-person) or Zoom (for virtual) details will be provided when reservation is confirmed. Please allow 48-72 hours to receive confirmation.
Thank you for considering joining us for this vital work. We look forward to talking with you in the coming weeks!
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Jennifer Wilcox
