Office Closing and Shop Hour Update
Our offices will be closed this Wednesday, December 11 due to an all staff meeting.
The Hickory Shop will be supporting new shop hours starting this week. The shop will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Closed 1 – 2 p.m. for lunch.)

You can shop with us in store or place an order using our Shop Order Form. Not sure what to get from the shop? Our Mystery Bags are full of fun surprises and are a great way to use Cookie Dough! Another great option is to order one of our Try It Kits to get a fun surprise from the shop while also earning a new badge. You can also redeem your Cookie Dough to attend upcoming programs on our online calendar or when you register for summer camp! Once you have registered for a program or summer camp session, e-mail info@girlscoutsp2p.org and request for your Cookie Dough to be applied to the fees.

Think Like a Citizen Scientist
Join us this Saturday, December 14 to “Think Like a Citizen Scientist!” This drop-in event at our Gastonia Service Center from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. will allow all Girl Scouts grades K-12 to earn a journey and go shopping at our Pop-Up Shop at the same time. Think Like a Citizen Scientist journeys will be on sale for purchase after you have made it through all the stations, with girls finishing their Take Action project at home.

Use Your Voice as a Council Delegate
We have an opportunity for registered Girl Scouts ages 14 and up as well as Girl Scout adults to use their voices as a council delegate! Council delegate applications are due December 31 and members will be selected to represent their service unit at GSCP2P’s Annual Meeting on April 26 in Boone, NC and also at Board Forums throughout the year.
Cast Iron Chef Weekend
If you’re inspired by cooking shows and love camping, then Cast Iron Chef Weekend in February is for you! Girl Scouts grades 6-12 are invited to come to Keyauwee Program Center and work with your team to plan and execute the preparation of your own dinner, dessert and breakfast using camp cooking techniques. You’ll receive instruction on how to use a camp stove and Dutch oven, learn food, knife and cooking safety skills and challenge yourself to come up with some creative meal options. Participants will stay in a climate-controlled lodge with indoor bathroom facilities but should also be prepared to spend some time outdoors.
Congratulations to Our Fall Product Top Sellers
Congratulations to all Girl Scouts who participated in the Fall Product Program! We hope you learned more about the entrepreneurial world, explored essential business skills and helped us stock food pantries through our Care to Share service project.
A special congratulations to Italy C. for being the council’s top seller and winning the jumbo elephant plush and a $100 Amazon Gift Card! Italy sold $2,932 and represents Troop 40154 of Service Unit 153. Italy’s Fall Product Program accomplishments will be recognized at our G.E.O. Event this summer along with runner ups Jorja B. ($2,451, Troop 40328, SU 146) and Ryleigh S. ($2,040, Troop 40153, SU 153).
Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings
Remember, you don’t have to be an expert to help Girl Scouts explore the outdoors. Progression allows for gradual skill-building. In order to build a fire, roast marshmallows or cook a simple meal, pitch and sleep in tents OR to camp at a non-council facility, the Basic Camping Skills License is required. Earn it by first holding an Overnight & Activity License and then attending the in-person Basic Camping Skills License.
