Progress Update on Camp Repairs Following Hurricane Helene- A Message From Our CEO
Since Hurricane Helene struck in September 2024, our council has been hard at work restoring and repairing the damage at both Camp Ginger Cascades and Camp Pisgah. Thanks to the dedication of our staff, contractors and volunteers, we’ve made significant progress in ensuring our camps are safe and ready for future adventures. I am excited to share with you our progress at this point:

Camp Ginger Cascades
- Removed approximately 75 trees from roads, buildings and program areas
- Removed damaged docks from the lake
- Repaired roofs of all affected Rainbow cabins
- Began repairs on the roof of Hilltop Shelter
- Replaced the well pump and restored water service to all of camp

Camp Pisgah
- Repaired water lines and restored water service to all of camp
- Completed repairs on the damaged Pioneer Ridge cabin
- Received assessment and recommendations from a structural engineer regarding damaged shelters at Sleepy Hollow and High Top
While there is still work to be done, we are thrilled with the progress and deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our efforts with their time, talents and One P2P: Camp Champion donations. As we continue restoring our beloved camps, we are excited to welcome volunteers for our upcoming Family Work Days in May. These workdays are a fantastic opportunity for members of our Girl Scout community and beyond to come together, lend a hand and help prepare our camps for incredible experiences ahead.
Thank you for your continued support—we can’t wait to see you at camp!
