Spring Gratitude and Excitement

To the One P2P family,

I wish you all a happy Volunteer Appreciation Month. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers who lead with their hearts and create unforgettable Girl Scout experiences. Because of your generosity and compassion, our Girl Scouts can unlock their limitless potential and make a lasting difference in the world. On behalf of our council, thank you for all you do during Volunteer Appreciation Month and all year long.

Our Girl Scout volunteers are the backbone of the One P2P family, so let’s show them just how much they mean to us. We have some ideas on how to say thank you to a volunteer like a DIY gift guide, customizable print and digital cards and more. Tune into your creativity and find a way to share your gratitude with those who do so much for our Girl Scouts this Volunteer Appreciation Month.

We’ll be shining a light on our outstanding volunteers in Boone at the 2025 Annual Meeting celebrating the One P2P Crystal Anniversary with a fun-filled day of connecting with members from across our footprint and reflecting on how Resilient, Ready and Strong our council really is. We also have a College Tour and Bowling Bash on Friday to kick off the celebration, so make sure to register for all Crystal Anniversary Weekend events and book your hotel with our discounted rates by this Friday!

Spring is buzzing with excitement, and I invite you to keep up this Girl Scout spirit with Spring Renewal. We have some new rewards and savings for girls, troops and service units, so be sure to log in to your MyGS account and renew your membership for another year of fun, adventure and sisterhood.

Speaking of adventure, who is ready for summer camp? For those of you who can’t wait until the summer to get back onto our camp properties, there will be two family workdays in May for all members – one at Camp Pisgah and one at Camp Ginger Cascades. In the spirit of volunteering and giving back, I encourage you to come spend a day with camp friends and pitch in on a variety of projects to help us get our camps back on track.

Thank you again, Girl Scout volunteers, for the countless hours and expertise you give back to our One P2P family. It truly takes a village, and I am so grateful for this one. I look forward to seeing all the ways our members celebrate our volunteers this month!

Summer Camp Financial Aid Requests Due Next Week

Our financial aid deadline for summer camp is April 18! We want every girl and Girl Scout to be able to attend camp regardless of their financial situation. Once you register for a program and pay a $50 non-refundable deposit, you will have access to our online financial aid application.

Receiving financial aid is confidential. Our camp staff do not know who receives financial assistance. Last year, campers who applied for financial assistance received an average of $280 to use on registration fees.

Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings

Make sure to take time to celebrate all that you have done to learn, grow and explore this year! Is your Girl Scout troop heading into the next age-level? A bridging ceremony is a special Girl Scout tradition and is a great way to involve girls and their families as you acknowledge your accomplishments and look forward to an amazing year ahead.

Like investiture and rededication ceremonies, Girl Scout bridging ceremonies have a few basic elements:

  • Opening: Welcome your guests and share the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
  • Main section: Girls, whether physically or symbolically, cross a bridge and are welcomed to the next Girl Scout level. Check out some creative bridging ideas to help you get started.
  • Closing: Girls participate in a friendship circle and thank their guests.
