Today’s Tips 5.12.25

It’s Time to Unplug!

Campers from across the council will be heading to day, overnight and horse camps in the coming weeks, and it’s not too late to have your Girl Scout join them! Already signed up? Don’t forget about our $50 Multi-Week Discount for campers that come for two or more weeks of week-long overnight programs! Families will pay full price for their first week of camp, then each additional week will have $50 off!

We invite all girls and Girl Scouts rising grades 1-12 to unplug, get outdoors, make new friends and take on fun teamwork challenges with us at summer camp. Our programs are packed with fun, but they can also help children develop their social and emotional skills, as well as give them the opportunity to learn new things and grow their independence. There are many reasons a week (or half week) at camp can be lifechanging! For example, today’s children spend more than 7.5 hours a day engaged with technology, which often takes the place of vital hands-on activities and socialization opportunities.

This summer, all overnight campers will have the opportunity to choose an equestrian adventure onsite at our Circle C Equestrian Center. To get more time at the barn, register for a horse camp program. If your camper wants more time at the other adventure areas of camp, check out our Horse Sampler programs or our traditional camp programs, like Renaissance Revival (June 22-26), Woodland Wonders (July 20-25) or Magnificent Makers (July 27 – August 1). We’re also offering free transportation assistance from our Hickory and Asheville Service Centers for select weeks of overnight camp. Submit your transportation requests by May 18. Transportation request forms are available in Campwise after holding your spot with a $50 deposit.

Keyauwee Family Fun Day

Come spend the day exploring camp with your family on Sunday, June 8! Meet our summer staff (including the horses) and experience all of the program areas that will be open during summer camp– like the pool, boating, archery and more! Register for Keyauwee Family Fun Day by May 30.

Year End Reports Due July 1

Each year, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont needs to report our progress and success to our communities and membership. We are required to obtain data from troops and service units annually to maintain our 501c3 status. Completion of these reports helps us update your records and to better understand how we can best support you. Your help is greatly appreciated with this important task. Get started on your Troop Year End report or Service Unit Year End and submit by July 1.

Kick Off Summer at the Water Park

We are looking forward to celebrating our top cookie sellers at Wet’n Wild Emerald Pointe in Greensboro on June 7! While all Girl Scouts who sold 500 or more boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie Program received an e-mail to claim their free tickets, all members are invited to join us for a day of fun at the water park! Tickets for June 7 can be purchased at a discounted Girl Scout rate directly through Emerald Pointe.
