Hitting the Road with New Resources

Thank you to the 100+ Girl Scout volunteers who attended the 2025 Volunteer Conference: Cruisin’ Into a New Year! We started our engines for a new membership year with lots of updates, networking with peers, learning about leadership roles and sharing fresh ideas to drive the Girl Scout mission forward as one council. Thank you for your participation both in person and virtually – every volunteer is essential to this council and building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place! This event created amazing conversations and connections across our footprint, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together for local girls and their families in the upcoming Girl Scout year.

As announced on Saturday, we have two new amazing patch programs designed with leaders in mind. Help your Girl Scouts have an awesome year with the Girl Scout Road Trip and the Girl Scout Adventure: My First Year guides. Along with streamlined camp reservations and new communications tool, we were also pleased to announce expanded pathways to Highest Awards with new Leadership Awards as we retire Journeys October 1, 2026. Stay tuned for virtual chats on our calendar to go over the new Leadership Awards this fall.

Riding Instructor-In-Training

Volunteers are an integral piece to the Circle C Equestrian Center. Our most popular volunteer program is our Riding Instructor-in-Training program (also known as RIIT program) for girls 13 years and older. Adults with or without a horse background are also welcome to join the training program. If you are interested in our leadership and horsemanship program, register for our RIIT Orientation happening on Saturday, September 6!
As a Riding Instructor-in-Training, you will learn how to teach others about horses, as well as how to teach about grooming, leading, riding and caring for horses. In return for your help at the barn, you will have the opportunity to ride, broaden your knowledge of horses and meet friends that share a love for horses too!
Say Yes to the Vest
Discover the magic of Girl Scouts at “Say Yes to the Vest” on Saturday, August 16! This event is hosted in Greensboro, Hickory, Dallas and Asheville and is for Girl Scout members of all ages looking to purchase their new vest for the upcoming Girl Scout year.
