Training Financial Assistance Applications Due Today

Applications for Training Financial Assistance through The Ed Whitmire Fund are due today for volunteers wanting to attend Leaderee at Keyauwee Program Center!

Don’t forget to apply for Training Financial Assistance for Trainfest at Camp Pisgah by Friday, August 19!

Financial Assistance through the Ed Whitmire Fund is available to enable registered Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont volunteers to attend courses that will benefit the girls they guide. This financial aid may provide assistance for up to 50% off Adult Training Weekend registration fees and up to 75% off Basic Camping Skills License Course, First Aid/CPR certification and Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Say Yes to the Vest Registration Closes This Week

Discover the magic of Girl Scouts at “Say Yes to the Vest” on Saturday, August 16! This event is hosted in Greensboro, Hickory, Dallas and Asheville and is for Girl Scout members of all ages looking to purchase their new vest for the upcoming Girl Scout year. During this elevated shopping experience you can try on your Girl Scout vest and sash to find your perfect fit, shop official merchandise and apparel, enjoy some fun Girl Scout activities and snap memorable photos throughout your day!
Can’t attend? Host a Troop Uniform Shop! Our staff will help with fittings, orders and pick-up at your meeting space.

New Body Appreciation Programming From GSUSA

Body Appreciation is strongly linked to increased confidence and self-esteem, and the new line of Body Appreciation badges are designed to guide Girl Scouts to appreciate everything their bodies can do—from breathing and thinking to running, dancing and creating! Through fun, age-appropriate and progressive activities, Girl Scouts build confidence, practice self-care and start lifelong habits that support both physical and emotional well-being. This line also comes with a Volunteer Guide that makes it easy to lead the way.

Patch of the Month: S’more Summer Reading Challenge

Period Poweris an initiative aimed at addressing period poverty through education and awareness. It emphasizes the absence of period product coverage in government programs like WIC and SNAP, resulting in health and hygiene difficulties for many students. The program offers a Period Power Toolkit to assist schools in providing period products, ensuring students can prioritize both their health and education.

Being brave, fierce and fun comes with some great rewards when you participate in the Fall Product program! Get ready to kick off the troop year with great programming and easy start-up funds that support your Girl Scout adventures throughout the year.

All troop volunteers are invited join us next week on Tuesday, August 19 for a virtual Troop Volunteer Fall Product Training. This interactive session will provide you with everything you need to know and give you a chance to ask all of your Fall Product program questions. A recording will be made available on gsLearn for those unable to attend.
