Today’s Tips 10.6.25

Welcome to the New Girl Scout Year

October 1 marks the start of the 2025-2026 Membership Year, and we are thrilled for the journey ahead! Our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place will continue to drive us forward.

Girl Scouting provides so many avenues for girls to grow. This year, our council is unveiling a new, progressive patch program to help you discover all that Girl Scouts has to offer! Enjoy a Girl Scout Road Trip through an amazing year filled with fun, learning, adventure and friendship.

As we forge the way for new memories ahead, let’s also celebrate the outstanding accomplishments from last year. The newest edition of Keeping the Promise is now available and highlights the critical work local Girl Scouts are doing to build relationships, broaden horizons and effect positive change.

Cinnamon’s Tips for Fall Product Program Fun

The Fall Product program is in full swing, and girls can learn business skills, earn rewards and kick-start troop funds for the Girl Scout adventures ahead! It is time to create your avatar and online storefront and/or use your paper order card.

October 20 is the last day to take in-person orders on your paper order card for candy/nut items that will be delivered by girls. On October 20, parents/girls will need to enter candy/nut orders from the order card in the M2 system. Do not enter girl-delivered online orders as these are already in the system. Payment for any candy/nut paper order card sales is due to your troop at this time.

Each troop that participates in the Fall Program earns 15% of all products sold. If a troop chooses the higher proceeds option (18%), they do not earn the physical rewards listed on the order card but will still receive all patches. Troops who participate in the 2025 Fall Product Program and sell at least 100 items will receive an additional $0.05 per package of cookies sold during the upcoming Cookie Program.

This year’s theme is Brave. Fierce. Fun! Our mascot, Cinnamon, has some tips for success:

  • Practice the skill of goal setting! Is there a patch or reward you want to earn? Do you want to rack up some Nut Bucks to use at the GSCP2P Shops or to pay for a council-hosted event ticket (including summer camp fees)? Nut Bucks can even help fund your Girl Scout travels !
  • Record your voice for your avatar or upload a personal video explaining what you would like to do with the money you are earning.
  • Send out e-mails early and often! With your parent’s permission, you can even post on social media to allow maximum time for your customers to make a purchase.

Try some math! If your goal is to earn the hoodie featuring this year’s new Exploremores Girl Scout Cookie, you need to reach $1,000 in sales. If each of your customers place a $25 order, how many customers would you need to reach your goal?

Property Assessment Survey Closes Next Week

We want to hear from you! Help us create the strategy to make the Girl Scout member experience at our properties better. Please take a few minutes to complete either the Adult & Volunteer Survey or the Girl Survey by Wednesday, October 15. Your input will support us as we consider future improvements and ensure our properties continue to be safe, exciting places for Girl Scouts to have fun.

Gluten-free Cookie Troop Pre-orders Due in Two Weeks

Girl Scout troops in our council will have the opportunity to sell gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip Girl Scout Cookies (GFCCC) as part of the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Program. Because the GFCCC cookies are not produced in the same facility as our regular cookie lineup and because of limitations on baking capacity, the GFCCC cookies are available to our council on a preorder basis only. For these reasons, we are asking troops that want to ensure they have GFCCC available in their inventory to sell during the 2026 cookie program to place a pre-order no later than Wednesday, October 22, 2025 (only one order per troop!).

In addition to the GFCCC cookies preordered by troops, GSCP2P will order a limited quantity of extra cases that will be available to troops on a first come, first serve basis for pickup at our Service Center Cookie Cupboards beginning Monday, January 12, 2026. GFCCC cookies preordered by troops will be delivered with the troop’s initial cookie order.

Girl Scout Night with the Greensboro Gargoyles

On Sunday, October 19 we’re teaming up with the Greensboro Gargoyles for an unforgettable Girl Scout Game Day experience! Your ticket includes admission to the hockey game, a limited-edition Gargoyle x Girl Scout branded puck and an exclusive event patch. This event is open to all families, friends and fans.

Hispanic Heritage Month Patch

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with your family and friends by recognizing all the histories, cultures, and contributions that Hispanic and Latino people have made. Take this opportunity to learn more about the 21 Spanish-speaking countries and territories’ cultures honored during September 15–October 15. And with plenty of activities to choose from, the discovery and fun are endless.

Anyone can earn the Hispanic Heritage Month Patch! We’re stronger together. By acknowledging the diversity, heritage and contributions of our multicultural communities, Girl Scouts can find new ways to make the world a better place for everyone.

Patch of the Month: Good Turn for Goodwill

Every year in the fall, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont and Goodwill Industries partner together to kick off the annual Good Turn for Goodwill service project. This service project teaches girls about Goodwill’s employment and training programs and how the donations they give to the organization help to support these efforts.

Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings

Mark your calendars! Our reservation calendar for spring camporees and troop camping is going live on Friday, October 10! GSCP2P service units and troops will use our new reservation system, CampLife, to book their camping weekends on a first come first served basis.

On CampLife, you can use the interactive map and filter by group size and amenities to browse available units at our camps for your selected weekend. Please note that a 25% deposit will be due at the time of reservation. If you would like to request staff-facilitated activities as part of your camping weekend, please send those requests to info@girlscoutsp2p.org or call us at 800-672-2148. If you would like to book a Troop Horseback Riding program with Circle C, please email circlec@girlscoutsp2p.org for availability. Approved activities will be added to your invoice in CampLife. All camping reservations and activity requests must be received at least four weeks prior to your selected weekend. Learn more about outdoor training requirements and find our CampLife instructional video, Troop Camping and Service Unit Camporee Guide and more on the Outdoor Volunteer Training & Program Resources section of our website.

Please note that Camp Ginger Cascades and Camp Pisgah are currently offline and not available for spring reservations at this time. We will add availability for Camp Pisgah once the issues with our well have been resolved. Several units at Keyauwee Program Center will remain offline for the spring until further notice including Apache, Chippewa, Comanche, Concho, Saponi, Sally Williamson, and the Nature Center.
