Today’s Tips 10.13.25

Our Method Encourages Growth

Fun, friendship and new adventures are what Girl Scouts is all about. Girls make new friends, challenge themselves, write their own stories and take action to change the world for the better. How? Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience we deliver girl-led opportunities, learning by doing and cooperative learning experiences. Activities focus on our core pillars of life skills, outdoors, entrepreneurship and STEM.

Whether you complete the Girl Scout Road Trip patch program, register for events on the council calendar or forge new adventures with your troop, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience will provide age-appropriate avenues for growth and learning. Our evidence-based model supports today’s girls by helping them discover a strong sense of self, positive values, healthy relationships, community problem solving and her ability to seek challenges.

Property Assessment Survey Closes This Week

We want to hear from you! Help us create the strategy to make the Girl Scout member experience at our properties better. Please take a few minutes to complete either the Adult & Volunteer Survey or the Girl Survey by Wednesday, October 15. Your input will support us as we consider future improvements and ensure our properties continue to be safe, exciting places for Girl Scouts to have fun.

Program Aide Workshop Registration Closes Next Week

The Program Aide Cadette Award is designed for Girl Scout Cadettes who want to develop leadership skills by working with younger Girl Scouts. Through activities, guided mentorship and practical experience, Cadettes will learn how to plan and lead engaging troop meetings. Leadership looks different for every person and, in this award, you’ll find out what it looks like for you. Join us virtually on Saturday, November 1, for Teaching Leadership: Program Aide Award workshop or discover all of the new Leadership Awards and resources available to get started.

Escape Stable Registration Closes Next Week

Juniors, are invited to a one-of-a-kind adventure on Saturday, October 25 at our Circle C Equestrian Center in Sophia, NC! Horses in STEM: Escape Stable is an escape room-themed challenge, where you’ll work together to solve puzzles, crack codes and uncover the science behind horses. Think fast, work as a team and see if you can help the horses “escape the stable” before time runs out! One of the team challenges will happen on horseback and all participants will earn a Horses in STEM patch.

Looking for more equestrian programs? Don’t forget about Brownie RIIT or the Model Horse Artist program for all ages! If you would like to book a Troop Horseback Riding program with Circle C, please e-mail circlec@girlscoutsp2p.org for availability.

Gluten-free Cookie Troop Pre-orders Due Next Week

Girl Scout troops in our council will have the opportunity to sell gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip Girl Scout Cookies (GFCCC) as part of the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Program. Because the GFCCC cookies are not produced in the same facility as our regular cookie lineup and because of limitations on baking capacity, the GFCCC cookies are available to our council on a preorder basis only. For these reasons, we are asking troops that want to ensure they have GFCCC available in their inventory to sell during the 2026 cookie program to place a pre-order no later than Wednesday, October 22, 2025 (only one order per troop!).

In addition to the GFCCC cookies preordered by troops, GSCP2P will order a limited quantity of extra cases that will be available to troops on a first come, first serve basis for pickup at our Service Center Cookie Cupboards beginning Monday, January 12, 2026. GFCCC cookies preordered by troops will be delivered with the troop’s initial cookie order.

Cinnamon’s Tips for Fall Product Program Fun

The Fall Product program is in full swing, and girls can learn business skills, earn rewards and kick-start troop funds for the Girl Scout adventures ahead! Paper order cards are due on October 20, but there is still time to create your avatar and online storefront as the online program ends November 10.

October 20 is the last day to take in-person orders on your paper order card for candy/nut items that will be delivered by girls. On October 20, parents/girls will need to enter candy/nut orders from the order card in the M2 system. Do not enter girl-delivered online orders as these are already in the system. Payment for any candy/nut paper order card sales is due to your troop at this time.

Each troop that participates in the Fall Program earns 15% of all products sold. If a troop chooses the higher proceeds option (18%), they do not earn the physical rewards listed on the order card but will still receive all patches. Troops who participate in the 2025 Fall Product Program and sell at least 100 items will receive an additional $0.05 per package of cookies sold during the upcoming Cookie Program.

This year’s theme is Brave. Fierce. Fun! Our mascot, Cinnamon, has some tips for success:

  • Practice your people skills! Use your voice to ask family and neighbors- wear a smile and your uniform to showcase what proceeds support.
  • Consider what your customer might like to order for themselves or to give as a gift. Let them know your recommendations!
  • Use various methods of communication like face-to-face, e-mail, text or phone calls. With your parent’s permission, you can even post on social media to allow maximum time for your customers to make a purchase.

Science of Roller Skating

Bring the whole family to explore the science of roller skating on Sunday, November 16 in Winston-Salem, NC! Learn how concepts like balance, friction, momentum and force come into play every time you glide across the rink. Through hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations participants will uncover the physics and motion that make skating possible. It’s a perfect blend of movement, learning and family bonding!

New membership opportunities will be available on-site, so invite your friends to join you and discover what Girl Scout fun is all about!

Girl Scout Night with the Charlotte Hornets

On Saturday, November 22 we’re teaming up with the Charlotte Hornets for an unforgettable Girl Scout Night Takes Over the Hive experience! Enjoy a new patch and exclusive pre-game access in the lower bowl, sitting just four rows from the court for an up-close view of the warm-ups. Plus, don’t miss out on a 10% discount at the Hornets Team Store for all Girl Scouts!

Save the Date for Annual Meeting

We are excited to confirm that Annual Meeting will be on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Rittling Conference Center on the Davidson-Davie Community College campus in Thomasville, NC. Mark your calendars for a day of celebration, networking and council-business.

Patch of the Month: Good Turn for Goodwill

Every year in the fall, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont and Goodwill Industries partner together to kick off the annual Good Turn for Goodwill service project. This service project teaches girls about Goodwill’s employment and training programs and how the donations they give to the organization help to support these efforts.

Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings

Did you know that Founder’s Day is October 31? Founder’s Day celebrates Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday and the importance of the Girl Scout movement she created! Fall is a great time to teach Girl Scouts about Juliette Gordon Low and explore Girl Scout traditions.
