Today’s Tips 10.20.25

Our Promise

As Girl Scouts, we start every gathering grounded in the Girl Scout Promise and Law. With these guiding principles, we continue to progress our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. As we celebrate Founder’s Day on October 31 and move into a new Girl Scout year, may we continue to practice and teach the importance of the Girl Scout Law:

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong,
and responsible for what I say and do,
and to respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place
and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Gluten-free Cookie Troop Pre-orders Due this Week

Girl Scout troops in our council will have the opportunity to sell gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies (GFCCC) as part of the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Program. Because the GFCCC cookies are not produced in the same facility as our regular cookie lineup and because of limitations on baking capacity, the GFCCC cookies are available to our council on a preorder basis only. For these reasons, we are asking troops that want to ensure they have GFCCC available in their inventory to sell during the 2026 cookie program to place a pre-order no later than Wednesday, October 22, 2025 (only one order per troop!).

In addition to the GFCCC cookies preordered by troops, GSCP2P will order a limited quantity of extra cases that will be available to troops on a first come, first serve basis for pickup at our Service Center Cookie Cupboards beginning Monday, January 12, 2026. GFCCC cookies preordered by troops will be delivered with the troop’s initial cookie order.

Safe Sitter Registrations Close Next Week

Safe Sitter® is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching youth life and safety skills for when they are home alone or babysitting.

Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes are invited to Greensboro on Sunday, November 9 for an interactive Safe@Home workshop. Learn how to stay safe indoors and outdoors when home alone, understand how to prevent unsafe situations and handle emergencies, know when and how to seek help from trusted adults and gain confidence in making safe and smart decisions.

Girl Scout Cadettes can also prepare themself to take on a popular first job- babysitting. Learn important childcare, safety, first aid and business skills through lessons, games and discussions while earning your Babysitting Badge and Safe Sitter Certification. This two-day virtual Safe Sitter: Intro to Safe Babysitting is offered on Wednesday, November 19 and Thursday, November 20. You must attend and participate in both sessions to complete this course.

Cinnamon’s Tips for Fall Product Program Fun

The Fall Product program is in full swing, and girls can learn business skills, earn rewards and kick-start troop funds for the Girl Scout adventures ahead! Paper order cards are due TODAY, but there is still time to create your avatar and online storefront as the online program ends November 10.

October 20 is the last day to take in-person orders on your paper order card for candy/nut items that will be delivered by girls. On October 20, parents/girls will need to enter candy/nut orders from the order card in the M2 system. Do not enter girl-delivered online orders as these are already in the system. Payment for any candy/nut paper order card sales is due to your troop at this time.

Each troop that participates in the Fall Program earns 15% of all products sold. If a troop chooses the higher proceeds option (18%), they do not earn the physical rewards listed on the order card but will still receive all patches. Troops who participate in the 2025 Fall Product Program and sell at least 100 items will receive an additional $0.05 per package of cookies sold during the upcoming Cookie Program.

This year’s theme is Brave. Fierce. Fun! Our mascot, Cinnamon, has some tips for success:

  • Review your target audience! With paper order forms due today, you’ll want to focus on customers who will make online purchases. Even friends and family who live nearby can make an online purchase. In fact, you can even use a marketing tactic and create a sense of urgency by letting them know time is running out if they want you to personally deliver their items. Girl-delivered items can be purchased online through this Saturday! Online orders can be placed through November 10, but these items will be delivered directly to your customer.
  • Send e-mails throughout the program. It is ok to send someone an extra reminder or even make a phone call to see if they received your e-mail. Don’t forget that one of the requirements to earn a personalized avatar patch is to send 20 e-mails!

BIG NEWS!

Because the Fall Product Program is sweeter with teamwork, I wanted to introduce my sidekick, Spice! We know that the Girl Scout Fall Product and Cookie Programs help fund amazing adventures and service projects. That is why it’s important to help your troop reach 100 items sold and receive the additional $0.05 cookie proceeds. Spice is excited to see you kickstart an amazing Girl Scout year, so she has agreed to create a drawing! For a chance to win Spice, the giant Grizzly plush, earn the personalized avatar patches for both Fall Product and Cookie Programs

Grizzly bears typically emerge from hybernation in mid-March through May, so Spice will be ready to announce the winner in April 2026.

Science of Roller Skating

Bring the whole family to explore the Science of Roller Skating on Sunday, November 16 in Winston-Salem, NC! Learn how concepts like balance, friction, momentum and force come into play every time you glide across the rink. Through hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations participants will uncover the physics and motion that make skating possible. It’s a perfect blend of movement, learning and family bonding!

New membership opportunities will be available on-site, so invite your friends to join you and discover what Girl Scout fun is all about!

Behind The Curtain with the Charlotte Youth Ballet

Girl Scouts can take an inside look at the components that make a professional ballet performance magical: the costumes, the props, the lighting, the music and, of course, the dancers! Plus enjoy discounted performance tickets and a special event patch. The Charlotte Youth Ballet is offering exclusive Behind The Curtain experiences for The Nutcracker and Coppélia.

Patch of the Month: Good Turn for Goodwill

Every year in the fall, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont and Goodwill Industries partner together to kick off the annual Good Turn for Goodwill service project. This service project teaches girls about Goodwill’s employment and training programs and how the donations they give to the organization help to support these efforts.

Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings

It is important for all troop members to feel a sense of belonging and accomplishment- that is the magic of the Girl Scout uniform! Request a Troop Uniform Shop if you would like to make uniform fittings a troop experience. Our friendly team will bring the uniform shop to your meeting space, handle fittings, orders and personalized packaging for each girl.

Our Shops and Service Centers are here to serve our members. Learn more about our locations and mobile shop opportunities.
