Celebrating Juliette Gordon Low

We had a wonderful fall festival weekend with nearly 100 Girl Scouts in Statesville for the Council-Wide Camp Out! Thank you to all who celebrated the power of sisterhood as we welcome in the new troop year and our new CEO, Elaine Loyack. With the Camp Out officially kicking off her first week, Elaine is excited to continue meeting the people that make our council great! Opportunities to meet our new CEO will take place at each of the service centers in the weeks to come. More details about these opportunities will be coming soon.

The GSCP2P Girl Scout Shops are celebrating Juliette Gordon Low’s Birthday all week long! Come to Asheville, Greensboro or use the GSCP2P Shop Order Form between October 27-31 to get select items for 50% off (while in-stock)!

Take a look at our deals and get excited for brand new merch- like the Through The Decades patch! You can celebrate Juliette Gordon Low’s legacy of empowering girls to be curious and confident at any time of the year with additional rockers to collect. Download the Through The Decades activity guide to get started!

Animal Powered Learning Closing Soon

Cadette Animal Helpers Badge Workshop registration closes next week! Explore the incredible ways animals help people while developing a deeper understanding of the special bond between humans and horses. During this engaging workshop on Saturday, November 8, Cadettes will participate in fun activities, learn about equine-assisted services, discover how to communicate with and care for horses and even enjoy a riding experience.

Registration for our virtual Ocearch & Girl Scouts: Sharks, Science, and Service classes for younger and older Girl Scouts close in a few days as well!

Cinnamon’s Tips for Fall Product Program Fun

The Fall Product program is in full swing, and girls can learn business skills, earn rewards and kick-start troop funds for the Girl Scout adventures ahead! There is still time to create your avatar and online storefront as the online program ends November 10.

Each troop that participates in the Fall Program earns 15% of all products sold. If a troop chooses the higher proceeds option (18%), they do not earn the physical rewards listed on the order card but will still receive all patches. Troops who participate in the 2025 Fall Product Program and sell at least 100 items will receive an additional $0.05 per package of cookies sold during the upcoming Cookie Program.

This year’s theme is Brave. Fierce. Fun! Our mascot, Cinnamon, has some tips for success:

  • Practice decision-making skills. Take a moment to reflect on your strategy and progress. What has worked well for you so far? What are your popular items? What goals and rewards have you earned? Has your troop continued to think about any adventures or service projects ahead? Does your avatar and storefront introduction video need any updates?
  • Practice good people skills. It is ok to send someone an extra reminder or even make a phone call to see if they received your e-mail.
  • Don’t forget that one of the requirements to earn a personalized avatar patch is to send 20 e-mails!

BIG NEWS!

Because the Fall Product Program is sweeter with teamwork, I wanted to introduce my sidekick, Spice! We know that the Girl Scout Fall Product and Cookie Programs help fund amazing adventures and service projects. That is why it’s important to help your troop reach 100 items sold and receive the additional $0.05 cookie proceeds. Spice is excited to see you kickstart an amazing Girl Scout year, so she has agreed to create a drawing! For a chance to win Spice, the giant Grizzly plush, earn the personalized avatar patches for both Fall Product and Cookie Programs

Grizzly bears typically emerge from hibernation in mid-March through May, so Spice will be ready to announce the winner in April 2026.

Cookie Expo and Cookie University

This year, we’re bringing our annual high-energy cookie rally to Black Mountain on Saturday, December 6! New adventures unfold and the fun continues with an optional overnight option.

Cookie Expo will prepare younger Girl Scouts for a successful cookie season by building essential skills in Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics-all while having fun! Girls will take part in hands-on stations, exciting games and engaging challenges that boost confidence, teamwork and sales strategies. Don’t miss this chance to kick off cookie season with enthusiasm, learning and plenty of Girl Scout spirit!

Meanwhile, older Girl Scouts are invited to step into a world of fun and learning at our Cookie University: The Game of Life. Get a taste of what it’s like to run a successful business! Imagine a life-sized game board where girls become entrepreneurs for a day, making real-world decisions that sharpen their leadership and financial skills. As they move through each station, they’ll take on exciting roles like CEO, Marketing Expert and Sales Superstar, experiencing everything from setting goals and managing finances to developing customer relationships.

New Cookie Hoodie

A huge congratulations to Tiffany, a Girl Scout Cadette from Troop 10182, for winning this year’s Cookie Hoodie Design Contest!

Pre-order your cookie hoodie by Sunday, November 30! All orders are available for delivery or pick-up in mid-December.

Science of Roller Skating

Bring the whole family to explore the Science of Roller Skating on Sunday, November 16 in Winston-Salem, NC! Learn how concepts like balance, friction, momentum and force come into play every time you glide across the rink. Through hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations participants will uncover the physics and motion that make skating possible. It’s a perfect blend of movement, learning and family bonding!

New membership opportunities will be available on-site, so invite your friends to join you and discover what Girl Scout fun is all about!

Help Us Winterize Camp

Help us winterize Keyauwee Program Center on Saturday, December 6! We will have jobs available for all ages, but please RSVP and let us know what type of projects we can prepare.

Robotics Camp-in at Kaleideum

Girl Scouts are invited to Winston-Salem for a fun night of badge activities, pizza, dome shows and fun in the museum after hours! Complete the Robotics 1 Badges for Daisy, Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes at a Robotics Camp-in this February.

Patch of the Month: Good Turn for Goodwill

Every year in the fall, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont and Goodwill Industries partner together to kick off the annual Good Turn for Goodwill service project. This service project teaches girls about Goodwill’s employment and training programs and how the donations they give to the organization help to support these efforts.

Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings

You can help Girl Scouts discover nature at our camp properties and beyond with the right training and certifications. Join us in Hickory on Saturday, November 8 for classes like Basic Camping Skills License, First Aid/CPR Certification or Primitive Camping License.
