Bandit’s Tips For Cookie Program Fun
The Girl Scout Cookie Program has officially started, and we’re excited for you to learn entrepreneurial skills, have fun raising funds for your next adventure and earn financial literacy badges.
Girls can use their paper order cards to visit friends, family and local neighborhoods, with adult supervision and approval, and take pre-orders for cookies. Girls should not collect money for any order prior to delivery (unless they order online through Smart Cookies). Cookies arrive January 7-10.
Bandit’s Tip:
Create posters for your cookie booth to let customers know what you want to do with your cookie proceeds. Use math to your advantage! Does your troop want to go on a field trip or carry out a service project? How many cookies does your troop need to sell to make your goals a reality? You can draw a poster with a meter tracking your progress to encourage customers to support you! The closer you get to your goal, the more excited customers will be to help you reach the finish line.

Safe Sitter Trainings This February
Safe Sitter® is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching youth life and safety skills for when they are home alone or babysitting. We are excited to announce new upcoming sessions:
Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes are invited to Statesville on Monday, February 16 for an interactive Safe@Home workshop. Learn how to stay safe indoors and outdoors when home alone, understand how to prevent unsafe situations and handle emergencies, know when and how to seek help from trusted adults and gain confidence in making safe and smart decisions.
Girl Scout Cadettes can also prepare themselves to take on a popular first job- babysitting. Learn important childcare, safety, first aid and business skills through lessons, games and discussions while earning your Babysitting Badge and Safe Sitter Certification. This Safe Sitter: Intro to Safe Babysitting is offered on Monday, February 16 in Black Mountain.

Riding Instructor-In-Training
Girls ages 13 and older are invited to join us in Sophia on Saturday, February 28 for Riding Instructor-In-Training (RIIT) Orientation . RIIT is a leadership and horsemanship development experience designed to build courage, confidence and character while developing skills in horsemanship and leadership. Throughout the year, RIIT participants log volunteer hours, which they can exchange for exclusive riding sessions and other special RIIT-only opportunities.

New GSCP2P Wants to Know Survey

It has been an honor to serve Girl Scouts and their families across our 40-county footprint this past fall. Your feedback is a valuable resource to help us ensure we are delivering the best experience to our members. All adult Girl Scouts and caregivers of youth members are encouraged to complete our short GSCP2P Wants to Know Survey as we prepare for more fun ahead.
The mobile shop can be requested only for events with a minimum of 50 attendees. If your event has fewer participants, we recommend inviting troops to join.
Explore Nature at Fiddlehead Farm & Forest
Fiddlehead Farm & Forest invites Girl Scouts to discover the magic of the outdoors on Sunday, March 8 ! From climbing to biking through scenic forest trails, this adventure is all about connection, creativity and fun in nature. Bring your own bike or rent one for an extra fee – climbing gear rentals are included! Meet friendly farm animals, explore woodland paths and enjoy a day filled with discovery and outdoor adventure.

More discoveries await! Use our Community Partner Directory to schedule unique experiences for your troop.
Patch of the Month: Cookie Challenge

Take on the Cookie Challenge and develop your entrepreneurial mindset while learning essential skills! Did the challenge last year? Start with Part Two this year!
Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings
The Girl Scout Cookie Program can help your troop earn the Cookie Challenge Patch, Girl Scout Road Trip patch and Financial Literacy badges , but these opportunities do not have to be solely your responsibility. Your troop can pick a badge and delegate which member will plan the activity. This is a great way to keep meetings girl-led! Be sure to communicate girl responsibilities with parents and invite them to support the troop’s efforts.
