Congratulations to Rylee Cocker of Girl Scout Troop 20024 in Gaston County for earning her Girl Scout Silver Award! With the help of her leadership and planning skills, Rylee was able to send off 75 shoeboxes to children who weren’t guaranteed a Christmas at all.
She collaborated with her community and other donors to help put goodies inside the shoeboxes, each month, for a whole year. With her organizational skills, she was able to collect enough volunteers and donations to help pack the boxes and cover the costs to send them off to various places. She learned what it takes to plan an event and how much time and dedication it needs! The end result was Rylee being able to put many smiles on children’s faces that Christmas. Shout out to Rylee!
