Today’s Tips 10.18.21

A Message from Our CEO
The GSCP2P Board of Directors looks forward to an amazing year working with and supporting you as the governing body for GSCP2P.  In order to do great work, they are counting on you to exercise your ability to participate in the democratic process by serving on a board committee. This is a wonderful way for all of us to live a key component of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience by “taking action.”

GSCP2P is currently looking for adults and Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors who are interested in serving on one of our Board Committees. We are specifically looking for anyone who has expertise or interest in the following areas:
Audit Committee
Human Resources Committee
Annual Meeting Planning Committee
Recognition Task Force for Board Approved Adult Awards
Properties and Camp

As we move forward into the new Girl Scout year, committees will work closely with our 2022-2024 Strategic Plan as the foundation and framework of their volunteerism and help to bridge gaps in our organization that will ultimately make a better program for the girls we serve. We would love to have some new faces and energy in these committees and are excited to have openings in a wide variety of areas. If you have questions, are interested in learning more or would like to add your name to one of these lists, please e-mail Danis Smith at dsmith@girlscoutsp2p.org by Friday, October 29.

Finally, as we shift into fall and all the great things ahead of us, know that the work being done by our whole staff is having a positive impact on our membership numbers. Our troops and service units are also doing amazing work to keep girls and volunteers engaged and keep the momentum going with our Add-A-Friend campaign that runs through November. A new girl means a new sister in Girl Scouting, and we are always ready to welcome her!

We continue to move in the right direction, and together, I am excited to bring the Girl Scout mission to so many new girls and communities.

Yours in Girl Scouting,

Jennifer L. Wilcox
CEO

Model Horse Show- Coming to Circle C Ranch!
Did you know that North Carolina is home to many top model horse artists? A top model horse artist sculpts and paints original resin molds, customizes and reworks plastic models and even sculpts horses by computer and 3D printing.

So what do all these talented artists have in common? They ride and love horses! Check out this beautiful horse (below), painted by our very own Circle C riding instructor, Stephanie Blaylock. Her original artwork was selected by Breyer Horses to be reproduced on a special, limited addition model horse. And on Saturday, November 20, you can join us at Circle C for a beginner and first time Model Horse Show. Come learn what you need to know to show model horses!
