| Troop Camping at Camp Ginger Cascades School is almost out for the summer, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still connect with your Girl Scout troop. Did you know that summer troop camping sessions at Camp Ginger Cascades provide an adventure-based experience in addition to your favorite camp activities? Ever wanted to go llama trekking or see your troop zipline? There are even sessions based around white water rafting or backpacking. You can see all of the adventure-based troop camping sessions here. It’s not too late to plan a summer adventure with us! Patch ProgramWe’ve been spotlighting several mental wellness resources throughout the month of May, including the Resilient. Ready. Strong. patch program. Girl Scout Uniform Exhibit The North Carolina School for the Deaf Historical Museum and Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont have joined together to present a Girl Scout uniform display in celebration of the 110th birthday of Girl Scouts and the 45th anniversary of the NCSD Museum. The exhibit runs now through July 15 and admission is free. You can click here for more details, including times and days the museum is open. Volunteer Opportunities: Camp Thanks-A-Lot Camp Thanks-A-Lot is one of our most popular cookie incentives for girls every year- giving girls the opportunity to come to camp for the day and experience all it has to offer! We are currently looking for volunteers to help us run this year’s Camp Thanks-A-Lot. Volunteers can sign up for a variety of responsibilities- from being a lunch helper to craft volunteer to even helping at the archery field. All volunteer opportunities can be found on the interest form. Events will run from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., but volunteers will get breaks throughout the day, including time for lunch. There are several dates to choose from and volunteers are needed at all three camp locations. Dates include: Camp Ginger Cascades (Lenoir, NC) June 18, 2022 or September 3, 2022 Camp Pisgah (Brevard, NC) July 9, 2022 or August 13, 2022 Keyauwee Program Center (Sophia, NC) July 16, 2022, July 23, 2022 or July 31, 2022 If you are interested in volunteering with us during one of these events, please fill out the form here. |
