NEW #HATNOTHATE Patch Program & Design Contest

Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont is partnering with #HATNOTHATE, a non-profit campaign that launched in 2018 that encourages kindness through creativity. The signature of the organization is the blue hats, which are made and distributed to youth across the country as a way to empower those who wear them to show kindness, as well as represent awareness, peace and solidarity in who they are.

As part of this partnership, a new #HATNOTHATE patch program will be available to girls and troops, starting in October 2023.

To launch the program in an exciting way, GSCP2P is hosting a patch design contest for the new patch program and asking girls to submit entries for a chance to have their design appear on the new patch. When thinking of a design, girls should focus on the key elements of the patch program, which include ways to discover, connect and take action with kindness while making a blue hat to share that same message of kindness with others. Founder of #HATNOTHATE Shira Blumenthal, likes to remind people that “when you unravel the E in Hate you get a hat.”

All patch design entries must be received by October 1, 2023. Patch designs will be voted on by the P2P membership, and the winning design will be announced on October 7. To submit a patch design for the contest, please fill out this form.
