Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend is set for the weekend of September 9-10, and there will be variety of activities happening at local state parks in our council to celebrate! Our Media Girls Team is looking for new members to join us for the 2023-24 year!
Do you love sharing about your Girl Scout experiences with others? Would you like to be on TV or radio? What about behind-the-scenes helping us with photography, social media and blog content? Do you hope to one day be a news anchor yourself? Then Media Girls is for you!
The program is open to all aged girls across our council. To apply, fill out the application here. The application deadline is Friday, September 8.
August Patch of the Month
Patch programs are a great way to explore a wide variety of topics and community resources. Through patch programs, girls are able to connect to their communities on a whole new level. The Patch of the Month for August is the Girl Scout Tree Promise. You can find details about the patch and how to earn it on our Badge and Patch Program website page.
Upcoming Events: Teen Health Career Day
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina and MAHEC (Mountain Area Health Education Center) are hosting a Teen Health Career Day on Saturday, August 12 in Asheville. The program is designed for middle and high school students in western North Carolina who are interested different health careers. Additional details and registration information can be found here. The event runs 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
