A Message From the CEO
As we roll into a season for giving thanks, I want each of you to know just how thankful I am for each of you. New members and long-standing members alike have come together in remarkable ways to make our corner of the world a better place- and I could not be prouder to represent you as your CEO. I have several important updates that I would like to share with you at this time regarding ways we can continue to support our communities in WNC.
Supporting Our Members
Several days after Hurricane Helene, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont established the One P2P Fund to support our staff, Girl Scouts and volunteers. This campaign will provide staff relief, membership and troop support as well as uniform replacement for the GSCP2P council. Distribution decisions will be made by the Fund Development Committee, which includes Board members, staff and volunteers. If you have been financially impacted by Hurricane Helene, please complete this form so the committee can respond to your request.

Supporting Our Camp Properties
Two of our camp properties, Camp Pisgah and Camp Ginger Cascades, suffered significant damages from the storm. Our council has hired a project management team to interface between GSCP2P and our insurance company to ensure effective claims management. We are still assessing our properties, but, once conditions are safe, we will eventually have camp work days for anyone who would like to help with debris removal. Our hope is to welcome Girl Scouts back to these camps in the Spring/early Summer 2025 for council-hosted programing, troop camping and service unit camporees. In an effort to get Girl Scouts back at these camps as quickly as possible, we invite you to be a camp champion by giving to the One P2P: Camp Champions campaign as we raise funds for these critical repairs.

Supporting Our Campers
As we prepare to launch Summer Camp 2025 registrations on Cyber Monday, December 2, I want you to know that girl safety remains our top priority. With uncertain construction timelines, we have made the proactive business decision to host six weeks of overnight summer camp programs exclusively at Keyauwee Program Center with day camp opportunities throughout our communities. This approach will ensure we can deliver a great program free of construction delays, that there will be enough units to house all of our campers and that we can provide girls with consistency after experiencing such tumult this year. Understanding that Keyauwee Program Center is located on the eastern side of our footprint, we are currently working on logistics to provide transportation and equine experiences for all campers this summer.
Supporting the Broader Communities of WNC
GSCP2P members are invited to join in our upcoming Weekend of Service on November 22-24 by assisting with a variety of volunteer opportunities and donation drives focused on hurricane relief efforts. If you choose to participate at any time next weekend, please complete this form sharing what you did and get a FREE patch! There are many ways to take action, but you can learn more about opportunities our council has identified to donate your time, money and items during our Weekend of Service on our blog.

Thank you for your consideration in supporting these efforts and for your enthusiasm in finding your own ways to make a difference. Since our founding in 1912, Girl Scouts have always stepped up to the plate during challenging times and I am confident that we will continue to uplift that legacy. And while I will continue to express my gratitude this month and beyond, I know there are many families in WNC who are, and will continue to be, touched by your display of what it means to be a Girl Scout.

Jennifer Wilcox, CEO

Early Bird Deadline for GSUSA Destinations This Week
GSUSA Destinations is a travel program for Girl Scouts 11 and older. With domestic and international trips, girls can discover careers, cultures and more while traveling with Girl Scouts from all over the country! Applications are filled on a rolling basis, but the early bird deadline is November 15. Ready to claim your spot? Find over 20 Destinations and learn more!
Need more convincing? Check out what one of our recent travelers has to say about this program:
“My Destinations was called Pacific Exploration in STEM and Girl Scouts from all over the country traveled the island of Oahu with Girl Scouts of Hawaii during our stay. We did numerous service projects including picking up microplastics in Hanauma Bay and helped weed taro patches near Kualoa Ranch. We also were able to enjoy the beautiful views and snorkel, learning about the local fish and sea turtles. We made a visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center and learned about the people of the island and other islands as well. We watched a beautiful show at the end of our trip and we were able to meet the dancers/actors. This trip would not have been possible without the travel voucher I applied for and received from GSCP2P. It was very helpful for me to have the trip of a lifetime.”
– Aunica T.

In addition to earning Cookie Dough when participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, girls can also apply for GSCP2P’s D-Pass scholarship. Girls who apply for their Destinations trip before November 15 and are selected to attend their program of choice are guaranteed funding from D-Pass scholarship funds. After November 15, scholarships are awarded until funds are exhausted.

Join in the fun of learning business skills while earning funds for amazing Girl Scout experiences this year! Learn more about our Fall Product Program and get started by creating your M2 account.
Being a sensitive and compassionate entrepreneur is important:
- Please do not ask any friends and family facing tragedies and hardship to make purchases.
- Brainstorm with your troop on how to delegate some Fall Product proceeds for good. Set goals and create a plan – then explain to your customers how their purchase will be used for good.
- NEW! You can now promote our community troop Fall Product link. Proceeds from these Fall Product purchases will go directly to supporting Girl Scouts in our council who were affected by Hurricane Helene.

Congratulations to last week’s Fall Product Program top sellers! The Girl Scout who sells the most items in total dollar sales by the end of the program will win a jumbo elephant plush.
