A Symbol of Hope and Resilience From WNC

This week, a Christmas tree in Avery County will be cut down and start its journey to Washington D.C., where it will stand proudly in the Blue Room of the White House. This will be the 16th time a North Carolina tree will stand in the White House since the tradition started in 1966.

22% of all natural Christmas trees in the US come from our state- Ashe County is the top producing county- with Avery County at number four and Allegany County at number six. There are many farms in other counties throughout the western part of the state. If you need a tree this year, please consider supporting WNC farmers.

Weekend of Service This Weekend

GSCP2P members are invited to join in our council-wide Weekend of Service on November 22-24 by assisting with a variety of volunteer opportunities and donation drives focused on hurricane relief efforts. If you choose to participate at any time this weekend, please complete this form sharing what you did and get a FREE patch! There are many ways to take action, but you can learn more about opportunities our council has identified to donate your time, money and items during our Weekend of Service on our blog

New Shop Hours

Please note our new shop hours. These changes are based on in-store shopping trends and will help us use our resources wisely by increasing our ability to bring the Girl Scout Shop to you! Request a Troop Uniform Shop event for uniform fittings at your meeting location or  request a Pop Up Shop for service unit meetings, troop meetings and local Girl Scout events! Stay tuned for mobile shop opportunities and special shop hours listed on our calendar.

Don’t forget that you can shop 24/7 and get your Girl Scout gear shipped directly to you by using the GSCP2P Shop Order Form or the official online Girl Scout Shop.

Explore with NASA

We’re wrapping up two live Q&A series with NASA. The virtual First Women of NASA Series provides a chance to hear from a few of the women who have had a crucial impact on the STEM fields.  Registration for the last First Women of NASA session closes today, so save your spot and meet Dr. Ruth Jones- NASA’s 2024 Wings of Excellence Awardee.

The last session for the Surprisingly STEM Series will feature a live Q&A with NASA’s Materials Research Engineer, Dr. Othmane Benafan. Learn how he “trains” metal to take specific shapes when prompted and how this technology is turning up the heat on what’s possible for NASA missions.

Cookie Kickoff Registrations Closing Soon

Kickoff Cookie Season in style with us on Saturday, December 7 in Hickory with two amazing events! Save your spot today because registration closes Monday, November 25.

The annual GSCP2P Girl Scout Cookie Expo includes opportunities for Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies and Juniors to participate in fun, hands-on activities. We have expanded our kickoff celebration to include Cookie University: The Game of Life this year and are inviting Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors to play the game of Life! Imagine a life-sized game board where girls become entrepreneurs for a day, making real-world decisions that sharpen their leadership and financial skills. As they move through each station, they’ll take on exciting roles like CEO, Marketing Expert and Sales Superstar, experiencing everything from setting goals and managing finances to developing customer relationships.

National Delegate Applications Due This Week

We have an opportunity for registered Girl Scouts ages 14 and up as well as Girl Scout adults! Apply to be a council or National Delegate . A Girl Scout discovering her voice leads to increased confidence as she makes our council, organization and world a better place. National Delegate applications are due November 22, and 4-6 members will be selected to represent GSCP2P in Washington D.C. at the 2026 Girl Scout Convention taking place July 20-25, 2026!

Council delegate applications are due December 31 and members will be selected to represent their service unit at GSCP2P’s Annual Meeting on April 26, 2025 in Boone, NC and also at Board Forums throughout the year.

Last Week of Fall Product Program

The Fall Product Program ends November 25! Have you earned a Fall Product Program Patch featuring your avatar? Keep the momentum going and you could also earn a Cookie Crossover Patch that looks like you! Learn more about earning these patches and other rewards earned by participating in the Fall Product Program.

Please note that Fall Product Program girl recognition selections are due in the M2 system November 29! Avatar patches will be mailed directly to each girl who earns them at the end of each program. Girls should ensure their correct mailing address is reflected in the M2 system.

Being a sensitive and compassionate entrepreneur is important:

  • Please do not ask any friends and family facing tragedies and hardship to make purchases.
  • Brainstorm with your troop on how to delegate some Fall Product proceeds for good. Set goals and create a plan – then explain to your customers how their purchase will be used for good.
  • NEW! You can now promote our community troop Fall Product link. Proceeds from these Fall Product purchases will go directly to supporting Girl Scouts in our council who were affected by Hurricane Helene.

Congratulations to last week’s Fall Product Program top sellers! The Girl Scout who sells the most items in total dollar sales by the end of the program will win a jumbo elephant plush.
