Today’s Tips 3.3.25

Get Ready to Party Next Week!

Girl Scout Week 2025 kicks off on Sunday, March 9 and runs through Saturday, March 15. We can’t wait to celebrate each day with you! Find details about how you can show your Girl Scout spirit all week long on our blog.

In addition to each spirit day, you can also participate in our week-long Virtual 113th Birthday Scavenger Hunt! Each day brings new fun- like trivia, video submissions, photo submissions, STEM challenges and art challenges. Complete daily challenges to earn points. End the week with the most points and win a PRIZE! All participants who complete the hunt will receive a patch. Registration closes on Wednesday, March 5, so save your spot today!

Join us as we celebrate Girl Scouts’ 113th Birthday on Wednesday, March 12 with a fun and exciting Virtual 113th Birthday Party! This special event will be filled with music, laughter and a surprise adventure that you won’t want to miss. Sing along to classic Girl Scout songs, connect with friends and honor the legacy of Girl Scouts together. Want to party in-person? Join us at the Dance Through The Decades Dance in Morganton on Saturday, March 15. Enjoy a festive evening with your special guy guest and invite your friends to discover what Girl Scout fun is all about! Registration for both parties close on Saturday, March 8.

To celebrate the Girl Scout mission of getting girls outdoors, we are offering a one-day $50 discount on all overnight summer camp registrations completed on our birthday, Wednesday, March 12. Only a $50 deposit is needed to register, and we have additional transportation and financial assistance request forms available after registering in Campwise. If your Girl Scout is thinking of registering for an overnight session, we invite you to come and explore what our camp has to offer at Keyauwee Program Center’s Open House on Sunday, March 9! This is the perfect opportunity for families to get a firsthand look at our beautiful facilities, meet our friendly staff and ask your summer camp-related questions. Whether you’re a returning camper or considering camp for the first time, our Open House is the perfect way to get a feel for the camp experience. We will also have a special ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. to celebrate the new Caraway deck. Thank you to the group of amazing volunteers who have worked hard to restore this unique and well-loved feature of this unit. Registration closes Wednesday, March 5.

For the Love of Girl Scouts E-card Campaign

For the Love of Girl Scouts (and only $5), you can send a special e-card to someone you love in honor of our 113th birthday!

That’s right, we’re sending cards on our birthday. For just a $5 donation to the One P2P Fund, you can send Girl Scout love to a friend, family member or anyone else who needs a little extra love. You’re also contributing to support our Girl Scout family affected by Hurricane Helene with membership and troop support, as well as uniform replacement. We’re sending the digital cards on our birthday, March 12, so personalize your card and make your donation by Monday, March 10. You do not need to be a Girl Scout to send or receive this card, so help us spread the love of community and service!

Kendra Scott Supports GSCP2P

Join us for a Kendra Scott Biltmore Park Grand Opening Event! Enjoy sips, sweets and a special gift with purchase while supplies last! 20% of sales will be donated to Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont to support our Hurricane Helene Relief efforts. You can also shop online March 8-9 at kendrascott.com and enter the code GIVEBACK-GSCP2P at checkout to support our council.

Last Week of the Girl Scout Cookie Program

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is ending March 9! We hope you enjoyed learning about entrepreneurship while raising funds for your next Girl Scout adventure. This cookie season has been full of surprises, and we send a GIANT thank you to our staff, volunteers and families that made this iconic experience possible.

There are two bonus “surprise” rewards that you can still earn this week. The Girl Scout selling the most girl-delivery packages through their e-commerce link between February 24-March 9 will receive a Giant Panda Plush. Your troop can also snag a free patch this week before Cookie Cupboards close.

We had a blast seeing your #SweetSurpriseIn2025 social media posts as we rang in National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend and our new booth partnership with Wendy’s. Congratulations to our Frosty Key Tag recipients. We will be mailing these soon so you can enjoy a free FREE Jr. Frosty with any purchase every single day in 2025!

Girl Board Member Applications Open

Service as a Girl Representative to the Council Board of Directors offers girls in 10th or 11th grade the opportunity to learn leadership and real-world skills needed to work in a business atmosphere. During a Girl Representative’s one-year term, beginning at the Annual Meeting, she will learn about the inner workings of Girl Scouts, how the Board influences and supports the Council and the girls, group dynamics, planning skills and financial accountability. Applications to become a Girl Board Member are open until March 20, 2025.

Crystal Anniversary Weekend

All members are invited to join us at Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 26 as we gather in Boone to celebrate 15 years of our council, welcome our new Girl Board Members and recognize the amazing accomplishments of our volunteers. Our day of celebration will include lunch, guest speakers and a business meeting with important council updates. Find our weekend activity guide for Boone accommodations and attractions.

We’re expanding the fun to include two Girl Scout opportunities on Friday, April 25. Girl Scout Seniors, Ambassadors and volunteers are invited to a day of college exploration with Future Ready: P2P College Tour! Girls will start the day at the CCC&TI Watauga Campus before enjoying lunch at the Appalachian State University Dining Hall. The adventure continues with a guided tour of Appalachian State University, where you’ll get a firsthand look at campus life.

In the evening, everyone (girls in all grades and adults) is invited to join us for Birthday Bowling Bash with The CEO.

Board Forum

We are hosting several informational events with our Board of Directors, and your feedback is imperative. You can be a powerful tool in shaping the efforts of our organization and we welcome you to attend a forum at a service center or to attend virtually.

RSVP for one of the dates below:
Tuesday, March 11, 6 p.m. (Triad Service Center)
Thursday, March 27, 4:30 p.m. (Virtual only due to construction at our Asheville Service Center)

Patch of the Month: Smile Squad

Review good dental habits, try oral health experiments, discover how hidden sugars can damage your teeth and learn about the importance of brushing and reading every day for a healthy body and mind. As you complete the requirements to earn the Smile Squad patch, you’ll also complete requirements toward other Girl Scout badges, including My Best Self, Snacks, Eating for You and Staying Fit. Download the activity guide and get started earning this patch!

Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings

As your troop looks for meaningful ways to contribute to their community, you can help sharpen their problem-solving skills and expand their definition of philanthropy by discussing community service and Take Action projects. Community service projects and Take Action projects serve important needs, but at different levels. If your troop members want to pursue their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award, they’ll need to understand the kinds of projects that qualify. Learn more about the difference between community service projects and Take Action projects.
