Today’s Tips 6.1.26

The Asheville shop will continue to operate Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Want the shop to come to you? Request a mobile shop or uniform shop!

Growing Green

We are incredibly grateful for service unit volunteers and are excited for the year ahead! Last weekend, over 50 Girl Scout adults attended the Where Service Units Grow retreat. Service unit volunteers and leaders representing 19 regions came together to strengthen their leadership skills, exchange fresh ideas and discover best practices from across the council.

Service unit volunteers work together to assess the needs of troop leaders and Girl Scouts in their local communities. The purpose of a service unit team is to recruit, develop and support volunteers to effectively implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience with girls. All Girl Scout families are encouraged to connect with your service unit through Rallyhood and at service unit meetings when they resume in the fall. Interested in becoming a service unit volunteer? Council-wide Bridging and Family Fun Registrations Close Today

Keyauwee Program Center is hosting a Council-wide Bridging and Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 13 in Sophia. We’ll kick off the morning with a Council-wide Bridging Ceremony, honoring girls moving up to the next age level and taking the next step in their Girl Scout journey. It’s the perfect way to celebrate accomplishments, make new memories and welcome the next year of Girl Scouting together! After a provided lunch, you can enjoy some of our favorite camp activities like boating, archery and the climbing wall! Registration is only $15 and includes lunch and activities. Groups of 10 or more can enjoy a 10% discount. New uniforms will be available for purchase.

Bobcat Registrations Close This Week

Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors are invited to Power of Engineering with Doosan Bobcat on Friday, June 12 in Statesville! Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at how innovation, physics and heavy machinery come together!

GSCP2P Wants to Know Survey Closes This Week

As we look forward to another year, please take a moment to reflect on your Girl Scout experiences in our spring edition of the GSCP2P Wants to Know Survey. This survey opened on April 25 and will close on June 5. Your feedback helps our council grow stronger as we work together to provide unique and meaningful leadership experiences to girls in central and western North Carolina.

Making a Splash: Additional Tickets for Girl Scout Day at Wet n’ Wild

Over 1,000 Girl Scouts have plans to join us for Girl Scout Day at Wet ‘n Wild Emerald Pointe in Greensboro on Saturday, June 6! There is still time to join us for discounted park tickets and a special celebration to recognize Girl Scouts who sold over 500 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies this year.

Families attending the 2026 G.E.O. Event at Wet ’n Wild Emerald Pointe are strongly encouraged to purchase all additional tickets in advance due to expected wait times and potentially long lines on the day of the event. Families needing to purchase Girl Scout Day rate tickets ON June 6 may do so by scanning the QR code available at the Girl Scout Check-In Table.

Please note that no cash payments will be accepted for the discounted Girl Scout rate at the event for ticket purchases. The deadline to use Cookie Dough, Daisy Dollars and Nut Bucks (for G.E.O. girls only) has passed.

Girl Advisory Board Applications Open

Want to meet other girls from your council? Do you have ideas about events or programs you would like to see our council offer? Then the Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont Girl Advisory Board (GAB) is for you!

The Girl Advisory Board (GAB) allows Girl Scout Cadettes through Ambassadors the opportunity to serve as an advisory team providing programmatic input to the Experience Team and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). By lending a voice to a movement that wants, needs and values girl-led contributions, these young leaders will play a significant role in shaping the ongoing work of GSCP2P. Applications are open now and will be accepted through July 1, 2026.

Explore More Summer Camp

We are excited to Explore More Camp! View our 2026 Summer Camp Program Guide to discover all the fun we have planned for full week and mini session overnight campers at Keyauwee Program Center.

This year, all overnight campers will get to enjoy an equestrian experience at no additional cost! Want to meet the herd before your stay? Check out Circle C Equestrian Center on Facebook or Instagram! The herd has a lot of personality and loves to make videos.

To apply Cookie Dough, Daisy Dollars or Nut Buck credits to your summer camp registration fees, please contact info@girlscoutsp2p.org.

Financial assistance is still available!
We want every Girl Scout to be able to attend camp regardless of their financial situation. Once you register for a program and pay a $50 non-refundable deposit, you will have access to our online financial aid application. Receiving financial aid is confidential. Our camp staff do not know who receives financial assistance. Last year, campers who applied for financial assistance received an average of $280 to use on registration fees.

Session Spotlight:
Register for Enchanted Forest and enter a realm of fairies and natural wonder! Campers will spend the week exploring the trees, waterways and magical corners of camp, where forests, fairies and fun come to life in every activity. Alongside classic camp adventures like climbing, archery, horseback riding, boating and team-building challenges, campers will have the chance to discover the magic hidden in nature. During Explore More activity blocks, campers can step into the shoes of fairies, taking part in whimsical tasks like creating fairy homes, collecting magical forest treasures, weaving flower crowns or crafting sparkling nature wands. These magical missions encourage creativity, curiosity and a sense of wonder, allowing campers to explore at their own pace and in their own style.

Midweek brings Theme Thursday: Enchanted Day, a special day for campers to dress as their favorite magical creature-whether a sparkling fairy, woodland sprite or enchanted forest friend-and immerse themselves fully in the whimsy of camp. Friendship, creativity and adventure are woven throughout the week as campers connect with nature, play with friends and let their creativity soar. It’s the perfect week for those who love the outdoors, enjoy magical stories and want to experience nature in a truly enchanted way!

Explore History with America250

In 2026, the United States celebrates 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. This historic milestone, known as America250, honors the people, places and moments that shaped our nation. Girl Scouts of the USA is partnering with America250 to celebrate this anniversary with special opportunities for girls to explore history, community and leadership. Girl Scouts can take part in events and activities across North Carolina and beyond, and earn a commemorative five patch collection to mark this once in a lifetime celebration.

More discoveries await! Use our Community Partner Directory to schedule unique experiences for your troop.

Patch of the Month: Passport to Adventure

Create unforgettable memories, learn new skills and explore—all while having fun. This program offers a personalized passport with a “Bucket List” of activities in eight categories. Enjoy adventures with family, your Girl Scout troop or solo. Earn check marks and work towards the exclusive Passport to Adventure Patch

Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings

Each year, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont needs to report our progress and success to our communities and membership. We are required to obtain data from troops and service units annually to maintain our 501c3 status. Completion of these reports helps us update your records and to better understand how we can best support you. Your help is greatly appreciated with this important task. Get started on your Troop Year End Report or Service Unit Year End Report and submit by July 1.
