Congratulations to Mahlia of Troop 2997 of Henderson County on recently earning her Girl Scout Silver Award! For her project, Mahlia partnered with the Blue Ridge Humane Society. Mahlia’s focus was helping rescued animals acclimate to their new environments in a positive way by providing goodie bags when they were adopted. She provided the animal’s new family with leashes, collars, toys, food and water bowls, and training pads to help them take care of their new pet! This will help when they adopt their new animal! Mahlia set up donation boxes all around her community to collect the necessary items. Not only did she get to help rescue animals, but also assisted adoptive families in the challenging transition of bringing a pet into their home.
