Today’s Tips 11.16.20

Systems Down Starting This Week
This is a final reminder that starting this Wednesday, November 18 and running through Monday, December 7, our registration portal, My GS, the Volunteer Toolkit and gsLearn will be down for maintenance and refreshing. Have you:
Saved a copy of your troop roster, including all contact information?
Saved any lesson plans for badges you will work on during that time?
Ensured you and all girls in your troop are registered? (Remember the first girl upload to Smart Cookies will be on December 10.)
Reviewed your contact information in My GS and checked your e-mail address? This is where you will receive your invitation to our refreshed member account portal after our system comes back online.

Yuletide Festivals Coming to Camp!
Announcing the first annual GSCP2P Yuletide Festival! Celebrate the holidays with a free craft, s’mores, a socially distanced photo with Santa and several other festive activities.

The Yuletide Festivals are happening at all three camp properties! Join us at Camp Ginger Cascades on December 4 and 5 and Keyauwee Program Center and Camp Pisgah on December 11 and 12. Pre-registration is required for these events- you can register here

All three camps are in need of volunteers to make this event happen! We need troops and service units to decorate buildings, donate refreshments and several day-of volunteers to run activities. If you’d like to lend a hand, please e-mail outdoorcamping@girlscoutsp2p.org.

New Girl Series Begins This Week

You can register for upcoming programs here.

The first workshop in this series is this Wednesday, November 18 at 5:30 and will focus on engineering. We hope you’ll join us as we kick off this new resource for our girls!

UN Survey for Girls
The United Nations General Assembly has declared the years 2021-2030 the “Decade on Ecosystem Restoration,” with the goal of preventing, stopping and reversing the loss and degradation of ecosystems worldwide. Reviving hundreds of millions of hectares across all ecosystems – from forests to farmlands, from the peaks of mountains to the depths of the sea – is a momentous task. No single entity can lead on this – we need a global movement.

The UN wants to hear from girls on this important topic as they prepare for the formal launch. Please share and complete this quick survey to have your girl’s voice as part of this movement.
