International Day of the Girl 2022

In 2012, October 11 was declared International Day of the Girl (IDG) by the United Nations. Ever since, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world have been celebrating IDG every year. It is a key moment for our sisterhood to come together to raise up girls’ voices and show how our Movement empowers girls and young women to shape the world they want to see all year long.


In celebration of this year’s theme, “IDG+10: Mind the Gap – Girls’ Rights Now!”, we are inviting all Girl Scouts to check out the 2022 activity guide to see how they can engage and celebrate this special day. We would love to see how our girls participate in International Day of the Girl- be sure and tag us on social media or submit your photos to info@girlscoutsp2p.org.

Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont (GSCP2P), is one of the 111 councils from across the nation that delivers the Girl Scout program, serves nearly 12,000 girls in central and western North Carolina. With the support and guidance of nearly 6,000 volunteers, girls in grades K-12 are given opportunities for fun and friendship, while fostering the development of leadership skills and self-esteem. It is a safe environment for girls to engage in activities while they discover more about themselves and the community around them, connect with others and take action to the make the world a better place.
