| Hurricane Assistance to Florida After Hurricane Ian left destruction in its path last week, many Girl Scouts are asking “how can we help?” Girl Scouts of West Central Florida has put together a take action list of ways girls and troops can help with relief efforts for our Girl Scout sisters in and around Florida. You can find the list here. Girls who support these efforts will also receive a Hurricane Ian Action Team Patch. As we become aware of more resources and ways to help, especially for the families of Girl Scouts of the Gulfcoast where the storm hit the hardest, we will keep you updated. International Day of the Girl- October 11 Tuesday, October 11 is International Day of the Girl- a day for spotlighting girl voices, girl stories and girl action. Good Turn for Goodwill Patch Design Contest The annual Good Turn for Goodwill service project with Goodwill Industries has officially kicked off! Remember to collect your gently used clothing and household items, including unwanted electronic supplies, to donate to your local Goodwill store through the month of October. And don’t forget about the patch design contest! Your design concept could be the 2022 Good Turn for Goodwill official patch. Entries for the contest must be in by October 31. Find details here. Triad Service Center Open to Troops/Groups The new Triad Service Center (located at 303 Pisgah Church Road, Suite C, Greensboro) is open to troops and groups to reserve free of charge for Girl Scout use. Reservations should ideally be made at least one month in advance of use to ensure availability and capacity of the service center varies by room.
