Celebrating Amazing Volunteers

We had a wonderful Annual Meeting this past weekend making new friends and keeping the old! Nearly 200 Girl Scouts convened in Thomasville to network, discuss business and recognize volunteers at our Adult Awards Ceremony. With 24 volunteers receiving National Girl Scout Awards and incredible highlights from this past year with our new CEO, there were many reasons to celebrate! We invite attendees to share their photos from the day here.

As we look forward to another year, please take a moment to reflect on your recent Girl Scout experiences in our newest GSCP2P Wants to Know Survey. Your feedback helps our council grow stronger as we work together to provide unique and meaningful leadership experiences to girls in central and western North Carolina.
New WNC Lodging
We are excited to announce a NEW resource to accommodate troop travels- the Asheville Experience Center! Experience Centers can be reserved for free and provide a unique space for troop sleepovers, meetings or programs. Learn about amenities and local attractions near Asheville and make your reservation today! Heading east? Reserve the Triad Experience Center!

Camp reservations for units at Camp Pisgah will be open for troop reservations starting Tuesday, May 5 with the first available weekend date starting May 15. Please be aware that we are unable to do any council-facilitated activities at this present time but plan to offer these activities starting in September for our fall season. Fall dates for troop camping will be launched mid-June for both Camp Pisgah and Keyauwee Program Center. Camp Ginger Cascades will remain closed as we assess maintenance needs and repair costs.

Congratulations, Cookie Rookies

Our new CEO, Elaine Loyack, is a rookie to GSCP2P, but knows what it takes to be a girl boss as well as the power of the Girl Scout Cookie Program. This year, we announced two new rewards for Cookie Rookies- Girl Scouts enjoying their first Girl Scout Cookie Season!
New troops participating in their first Girl Scout Cookie Season who reached a 425 per-girl average (PGA) were entered into a drawing for a chance to win a pizza party with Elaine. Congratulations to Troop 10152!
And a special congratulations to McKenzie J. from Troop 40514 for being the top selling Cookie Rookie! McKenzie sold 1,506 packages and has earned a special CEO For a Day reward where she will get a behind-the-scenes look at Elaine’s job.
Congratulations to all our Cookie Rookies who participated in the world’s largest girl-led entrepreneurial program! Be sure to thank the adults who made this experience possible. We are excited to see where Girl Scouting takes you next!
Explore More Summer Camp
We are excited to Explore More Camp! View our 2026 Summer Camp Program Guide to discover all the fun we have planned for overnight campers at Keyauwee Program Center and for day campers joining us in Black Mountain, Greensboro, Hickory and Winston-Salem.
In the program guide, you’ll find a readiness quiz to help you choose the best program for you and your camper as well as a scavenger hunt! Submit your scavenger hunt answers by April 30 to be entered into a drawing for a special camp care package.
To apply Cookie Dough, Daisy Dollars or Nut Buck credits to your summer camp registration fees, please contact info@girlscoutsp2p.org.

We want every Girl Scout to be able to attend camp regardless of their financial situation. Once you register for a program and pay a $50 non-refundable deposit, you will have access to our online financial aid application. Receiving financial aid is confidential. Our camp staff do not know who receives financial assistance. Last year, campers who applied for financial assistance received an average of $280 to use on registration fees.

Session Spotlight:
Your letter has arrived, and it’s time to report to the Wizarding School of Keyauwee for Magic and Mysteries! Campers will spend the week uncovering magical mysteries, from studying enchanted plants and brewing potions to exploring all kinds of mystical secrets. They’ll get hands-on with fun activities like candle making, potion crafting and testing their skills in a friendly game of Quidditch. Along the way, campers will also enjoy classic camp favorites like boating, climbing, archery and team-building challenges, blending magic with adventure. Friendship and teamwork are at the heart of this magical week as campers collaborate, share discoveries and cheer each other on in all their enchanting activities.
Midweek brings Theme Thursday, a day to dress in your best wizard or magical outfits, letting your imagination run wild and adding an extra touch of magic to the fun. With spells, creativity and plenty of laughter, this week is perfect for campers ready to explore, play and discover their own magical powers!
