The Triad Shop will be open for special Saturday shop hours this Saturday, August 8. Drop in between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and stock up on Girl Scout gear!

Thank you to everyone who made the 2026 Volunteer Conference a hit! Over 125 GSCP2P volunteers and staff came together for a sold-out event to kick off the new membership year and celebrate this space “Where Leaders Grow.” It was a great day filled with new and old friends, important council updates and interactive workshops.
Thank you to Monticello Community Church in Statesville for hosting us, and thank you to SylvanSport and Tom Dempsey for donating one of our door prizes, a Dine O Max camp kitchen that is ready for an outdoor Girl Scout adventure! We connected, learned and cheered for all the accomplishments of this past year and the excitement ahead. Thank you, volunteers, for showing your commitment to building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place! We are incredibly thankful for our growing network of caring adults who keep pushing our Movement forward!

Farewell, Summer Campers
This weekend we said goodbye to our last session of overnight summer campers at Keyauwee Program Center. It was our pleasure to host nearly 350 Girl Scouts for Explore More Camp as we discovered new friendships and activities in the great outdoors.
A special thank you to the Riding Instructors-In-Training and the Counselors-In-Training I & II for bringing camp magic to life this summer while expanding your leadership skills. You helped create memories that will last a lifetime!
Become a Riding Instructor-In-Training
The Riding Instructor-In-Training (RIIT) program is a leadership and horsemanship development experience designed for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors. Through this program, RIITs build courage, confidence and character while developing their skills in horsemanship and leadership with the help of our Circle C herd. Throughout the year, RIIT participants log volunteer hours, which they can exchange for exclusive riding sessions and other special RIIT-only opportunities.
Interested in becoming a RIIT? Join us at Circle C Equestrian Center on Saturday, September 12 for Riding Instructor-In-Training Orientation!
Not old enough to become a RIIT? Girl Scout Juniors can explore future possibilities through the Junior RIIT Explorer session happening on Saturday, September 19. Enjoy a hands-on workshop to learn the fundamentals of grooming and how to safely lead horses.
Become a Media Girl
The Media Girls team is open to GSCP2P Girl Scouts of all age levels. Our season runs from October through May with additional opportunities in the summer. As a Media Girl, you will learn about various careers and discover your strengths and interests through first-hand media experiences. You could find yourself representing our council through tv or radio interview, conducting interviews at Girl Scout events, creating social media content, writing blogs and more! Applications are open now through September 14.
Know a recent graduate interested in a media career? Our fall marketing internship is still accepting applications for young adults to build their portfolio with our nationally recognized brand. Former Girl Scout experience is not required.
National S’mores Day is Next Week
Did you know that August 10 is National S’mores Day or that Girl Scouts published the first official recipe for s’mores, originally called “Some More,” in the 1927 guidebook Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts?
S’mores always taste better with company! Join Alamance County Girl Scouts or Guilford County Girl Scouts for a S’more Day celebration or make a sweet treat and share what you love about Girl Scouts with family, friends and neighbors.
Golden Spoon Society
Calling all food lovers! The Golden Spoon Society is a fun-filled club where girls explore the world one bite at a time. From cooking and baking to tasting new flavors, learning about food traditions and meeting local culinary experts, each gathering serves up delicious adventures, new friendships and unforgettable experiences.

Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend is being celebrated September 12-13, 2026 by councils across the country. We are collaborating with parks across our footprint and are still adding events to our calendar.

Adult Volunteer Resources & Trainings
Troop leaders should review their roster in myGS and expand troop capacities if you are accepting new members. Use our customizable troop invitation flyer and invite your troop to share with friends!
Now is also a great time to confirm if Girl Scouts who have not renewed their membership are planning to return to the troop.
