Today’s Tips 10.10.22

Celebrate International Day of the Girl!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 11, will mark 10 years of International Day of the Girl (IDG)—a day for spotlighting girl voices, girl stories and girl action! It’s a BIG milestone, and at Girl Scouts we’ve got some bright ideas for how to celebrate. We know that each girl has the power to change the world, and we celebrate IDG not only to give them a platform to speak out, but also to champion their achievements, triumphs and contributions.

Your troop can join us tomorrow as we turn up girl voices to level 10 and build toward a brighter and more equitable future for girls everywhere. You can find the 2022 activity guide and resources on our blog. We hope you’ll join in on the celebration!

Your Voice Matters!
As part of our new bylaws that were passed during the 2022 Annual Meeting, our delegate selection process has been revised to take place at the service unit level, ensuring across-the-council representation of our membership.

Each service unit will elect a specific number of Delegates and Alternates to represent their service unit. Delegates must be a registered girl age 14 and older or an adult member. Delegates are entitled to vote in the election of members of the Board of Directors yearly and National Council Delegates every three years.

If you are interested in learning more about the delegate process and being considered by your service unit to fill the role of Delegate or Alternate for your area, please read and submit the interest form here. Questions can be directed to info@girlscoutsp2p.org.
