Brevard Celebrations

We’re celebrating a new chapter at Camp Pisgah! We were honored to have the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce join us for a ribbon cutting and open house last week to celebrate the newly remodeled Westfeldt Troop House and the incredible resilience that brought us to this moment. We had a great time with volunteers at Trainfest this past weekend and can’t wait to celebrate with Girl Scouts at the Council-Wide Campout later this month! Come explore Camp Pisgah and make reservations for troop camping trips or service unit camporees.

We are also pleased to announce that the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber also awarded Girl Scout volunteer Lisa Patty Abbey with the Duke Energy Citizenship Award! Lisa was recently given this award at the chamber’s annual awards gala for Lisa’s decades of outstanding volunteer service to the Girl Scout families in western North Carolina and other community organizations in Transylvania County.

Hopper’s Fall Product Tips
The Fall Product Program is a great way for Girl Scouts to learn business skills while earning start up funds for the amazing Girl Scout year ahead. In addition to troop proceeds, Girl Scouts who participate can earn Nut Bucks and other reward items. Plus, troops who participate in the 2026 Fall Product Program and sell at least 100 items will receive an additional $0.05 per package of cookies sold during the upcoming Girl Scout Cookie Program.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to create your avatar and online storefront! Our mascot, Hopper, has some tips for Fall Product Program success:
- Practice your presentation skills! Use your voice to ask family and neighbors- wear a smile and your uniform to showcase what proceeds support. Let them know why you are participating in the Fall Product Program and what you hope to do with your proceeds. Use a sense of urgency to your advantage! Let your customers know that your paper order card is due on October 19 and encourage them to support you before it’s too late.
- Practice cause marketing, a sales tactic that highlights how you give back to charitable causes, by reminding people about the Care to Share service project. Not only can they feel good about supporting your Girl Scout goals, they can also help us stock local food banks with Honey Roasted Peanuts!
- Practice good communication skills. Use various methods of communication like face-to-face, e-mail, text or phone calls. With your parent’s permission, you can even post on social media. It is ok to send someone an extra reminder or even make a phone call to see if they received your e-mail. Remember, e-mails are not just for people who live far away! And don’t forget that sending 20 e-mails through the M2 system is one of the requirements for earning a personalized avatar patch!
